I had a neighbor who used to write, and paint, and read a lot. His bright house looked like a museum, decorated with his own paintings, and words collected from his own wise life. His wife was a great cook who loved feeding me some soul-stirring food from her kitchen. What happens in March

Womanhood

March is not my favorite month. Every year when the month starts, my Facebook news feed gets crowded with copied quotes on “What women want.”  As if everyone figured that out already. Then on 8th of March, all of a sudden some women start posting gym selfies with different  slogans: ” Love your body. Exercise and drink water,” “Love yourself today, go shopping,”  “Be fit. Sky is the limit,” “A Beautiful woman draws strength from trouble, smiles during distress and grows stronger with prayers and hope. You are one of them. ”  Continue reading “What happens in March”

Window Dressing

Window dressing“It’s all about window dressing. She’s just decorating her life with lies.  Why are some people so fake?” 

The question arrives along with two cupcakes and a pot of ginger tea. It’s still spring and afternoons are not really for tea breaks. But I’m here, meeting an old friend, discussing old stories. On Google she found everything that she wanted to know; every answer, the colors of rainbows, the analysis of her favorite poem, diet plan of Gwyneth Paltrow, the designer of Claire Underwood, recipe of tres leches cake, phone number of her regular pizza place, direction to that ex-boyfriend’s latest house, tips to lose 5 pounds in 5 days.
